Double Spun Plasma

TriStar offers FFPE blocks and TMAs with matched double spun plasma from several tumor types (NSCLC, CRC, Ovarian cancer, Gastric ADC etc.) Molecular characterization is available from FFPE blocks.

Double spun plasma is a process used in preparing Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) where the whole blood is spun two times to optimize the concentration of the platelets.

Cell-free DNA (cf-DNA) refers to all non-encapsulated DNA present in the bloodstream which may originate from apoptotic cells as a part of physiological cell turnover, or from cancer.

Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is always present in plasma and is a biomarker of growing interest for therapy efficiency monitoring.

Control FFPE Blocks

We screen thousands of FFPE blocks to identify ones that are positive or negative for selected markers.

Biomarkers include:

  • EGFR Mutations
  • KRAS Mutations
  • ALK (IHC)
  • MSI (IHC)
  • HER2
